Standards
ELACC9-10W1 - Georgia
Write arguments to support claims in an analysis of substantive topics or texts, using valid reasoning and relevant and sufficient evidence.
ELACC9-10W1a - Georgia
Introduce precise claim(s), distinguish the claim(s) from alternate or opposing claims, and create an organization that establishes clear relationships among claim(s), counterclaims, reasons, and evidence.
ELACC9-10W1b - Georgia
Develop claim(s) and counterclaims fairly, supplying evidence for each while pointing out the strengths and limitations of both in a manner that anticipates the audience's knowledge level and concerns.

Activator
Who doesn't like to see a funny argument?! Remember, raising your voice doesn't help, raise your points!

After watched video: Did either of these kids raise their voice? No, but they made their points and created a better stance.

Work Session
So, I know I'm not here but that doesn't mean nothing can get done! These papers are due Friday!!!
You have ALL class period today to get these draft done. We have gone over every step there is to take and you have all the tools you need to create an A paper!
Look back at the notes from Monday and yesterday. You have all the handouts and if you are missing any they are on my blog!

Make sure you write down any questions for me to answer tomorrow!! I will be checking how much you get done tomorrow.


Assessment Strategy  
Informal: Walking around and checking on how much they are getting done.


Differentiation
Each student will get one-on-one help on their essays. If some students need more help, we can go over more examples.
